The Jamaica Howard University Affinity Network (JHUAN), is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering Jamaican students at Howard University through scholarships, one-on-one mentorship, and professional development. Our vision is to create a world where Jamaican students have the financial support, guidance, and resources needed to thrive academically and build meaningful, successful careers. By fostering a strong community of support, we help our scholars overcome financial challenges, graduate with confidence, and make a lasting impact on their families, communities, and Jamaica as a whole.

Scholarships

In 7 years, JHUAN has partnered with the Jamaican Embassy and generous donors, have awarded $463,000 in scholarships to deserving Jamaican students at Howard University, giving them the financial support they need to graduate and succeed.

Mentorship

This is the core of JHUAN. We’ve paired 89% of our scholars with mentors and hosted 100+ group mentorship sessions, offering one-on-one guidance, networking events, and career workshops to support their academic and professional growth.

Professional Development

We equip Jamaican students at Howard with skills, connections, and resources needed to excel in their careers. From resume-building workshops to industry networking opportunities, we bridge the gap between college and career success.
