To date, JHUAN has invested more than $518,000 in scholarships and fellowships for Jamaican students at Howard, with a 100% graduation rate. In 2025 alone we awarded $107,000 — yet over 100 equally qualified applicants, averaging a 3.7 GPA, went unfunded. The talent is there; the funding is the gap we’re closing.

Every year a new group of brilliant Jamaican students earns a place at Howard. They’ve done the hard part. But for too many, the gap between Howard’s aid and the real cost of getting there is the only thing standing between them and the start line. JHUAN exists to close that gap — and to make sure no Jamaican student walks onto Howard’s campus alone.
This reception is where it begins: incoming students meet the scholars, graduates, and mentors who’ve already walked the road.
