The Financial Gap
Providing Need-Based Scholarships
With college education costs on an upward trend, Jamaican international students and their families often find themselves in a tough spot. But at JHUAN, we’re committed to turning the tide. Our scholarship program is designed precisely to open more doors for students from Jamaica or of Jamaican heritage, helping them secure the financial aid they need.
Open to full-time Howard University students across all majors, this initiative is more than just funds. Our scholarship program provides guidance and mentorship, networking opportunities and professional development support. Every year, we encourage students apply, helping them ease their financial burden so they can focus on their academic and personal growth.
This year, we will be recognizing scholars from our 2026 scholarship awardees as JHUAN Bancroft S. Gordon Scholars and JHUAN Wellspring Manor Scholars in honor of the late Bancroft “Banky” Gordon and in honor of Howard Alumna, Lisa Brown Alexander. Selected students would have demonstrated excellence in athletics, academics, leadership and community. Howard University Jamaican athletes and athletes of Jamaican heritage (at least one parent is Jamaican) are encouraged to apply.
