Dr. Kijana Nix

Dr Kijana Nix is a board-certified general pediatrician and newborn hospitalist with a distinguished career in clinical care, medical education, and global health. She earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences at Mona Campus in Kingston, Jamaica. She completed pediatric training at Howard University Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Doctor Nix serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Howard University College of Medicine, contributing to the training of medical students and future physicians. She is the founder of Nix Direct Access Pediatrics PC, a practice that emphasizes personalized care, health and wellness and offers telemedicine services for children and young adults.

Dr. Nix has dedicated her career to serving medically underserved communities. She is the founder of Hands for a Cause, a non-profit humanitarian organization. Her humanitarian efforts span countries such as Antigua, Ghana, Kenya, Haiti, Jamaica, Liberia, Uganda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Sierra Leone. In recognition for her contributions, Dr. Nix received several honors including the US Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 and acknowledgement from the Washington DC Mayor for her frontline work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
